Meet our Executive Director
Spring Cason Graf
Spring Graf serves as Executive Director of Volunteer Sedona & the Verde Valley, leading the organization’s vision, operations, and day-to-day impact in the community. She works closely with board members and partners to expand partnerships, strengthen infrastructure, and connect residents, businesses, and visitors with meaningful volunteer opportunities across the region.
With a background in both corporate and nonprofit leadership, Spring brings experience in strategic development, organizational growth, and community engagement. Her commitment to service was shaped through earlier volunteer efforts, including work in Maui, where she saw firsthand the impact of organized, community-driven support. That foundation continues to inform her approach to building strong, service-oriented networks.
Deeply rooted in the Verde Valley, Spring is committed to strengthening the region through increased volunteerism and collaboration. As Board Chair, she is focused on scaling impact and ensuring Volunteer Sedona & the Verde Valley remains a vital resource for the community.
Outside of her leadership role, Spring enjoys participating in a variety of social groups, hiking and mountain biking, practicing and teaching Komyo ReikiDo, making jewelry, and spending time with family. She believes that service is a powerful way to build connection and lasting community.
Board Chair
Kristin Bolken
Kristin Bolken has always felt a strong pull to be part of the solution. When communities face challenges, her instinct is to step in, take responsibility, and contribute in meaningful ways.
Her career began in social work, supporting at-risk youth experiencing homelessness and foster care. This early work built her ability to navigate complex systems and advocate for those most in need. Over time, she recognized her strengths extended beyond direct service into helping organizations grow and thrive.
Drawn to storytelling and connecting programs with resources, she transitioned into nonprofit development. She has served as both Development Director and Executive Director across organizations at every stage—from grassroots startups to established national nonprofits. Her experience includes launching fundraising programs, securing major grants, leading capital campaigns, and guiding organizations through critical growth phases.
Today, as the owner of The Local Sedona, she is creating a community gathering place—a “third place” where people can connect and experience belonging. She also donates one percent of her monthly net profits to Volunteer Sedona & the Verde Valley.
Serving on the board of Volunteer Sedona & the Verde Valley is a natural extension of her work. She is passionate about strengthening nonprofits through improved volunteer engagement systems and increased organizational capacity, helping build a sustainable foundation for long-term impact.
Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and creating, and values time with friends, shared meals, and her rescued puppy.
Board Secretary
Jenni Garrett
Jenni Garrett is an organizer at heart, driven by a deep commitment to helping people move toward what matters most. She focuses on what comes next—what moves things forward—and how progress can be made one step at a time.
As the owner of Dragonfly LLC, Jenni works in project management, supporting a wide range of clients and initiatives. She began her career managing IT projects for large organizations, collaborating remotely with teams across the Midwest and East Coast. While efficient, the work often felt disconnected. That experience helped clarify her true strength: not just managing timelines and resources, but connecting people to the purpose behind their work. She believes people do their best work when they feel aligned with where they’re going and why it matters.
Earlier in her career, Jenni worked in the nonprofit sector, an experience that continues to shape her perspective. It reinforced her belief that connection is not just valuable—it’s essential. The relationships we build influence the direction and impact of our work.
This belief led her to Volunteer Sedona & the Verde Valley, where she was inspired by the organization’s mission and leadership. She also serves with the Verde Valley Rotary Club, supporting youth leadership development. As a board member, she is committed to continuous learning and strengthening organizational relationships.
Jenni moved to the Verde Valley with her son after 20 years in Phoenix and is embracing this new chapter. She lives by the idea that every step we take can lead to meaningful impact.
Board Treasurer
Lindsay Sacks
Lindsay Sacks’ journey has been anything but linear, yet a clear thread runs through it: a deep commitment to connection, purpose, and being part of something meaningful.
She began her career in accounting and finance, working with a large firm across Silicon Valley, Hawaii, and San Diego, where she audited a variety of organizations, including nonprofits. This experience sparked a deeper interest in the nonprofit sector. As a corporate controller, she later served as treasurer for a charitable foundation and contributed to several nonprofit boards through financial support, programming, and events.
After years in corporate leadership, Lindsay chose to explore a different path—launching a digital marketing business, teaching yoga, and traveling throughout South America. Living in small, connected communities reshaped her perspective on work, life, and belonging.
What began as a short visit to Sedona became a permanent move. She built her community through hands-on volunteering, including trail work, cleanups, and local initiatives.
Today, as a real estate professional, Lindsay continues to center connection in her work. She was drawn to Volunteer Sedona & the Verde Valley for its mission to make service accessible and meaningful. As a board member, she is particularly interested in expanding partnerships within tourism and hospitality, helping channel visitor energy into community impact.
For Lindsay, volunteering is more than an activity—it’s a way of belonging.
