ECO Farm

Organization Overview

Our ECO Farm project at 3080 E. Hwy 89A, Cottonwood, Arizona is a model regenerative teaching farm that was established in 2014. On our 12-acre farm, volunteers, visitors and interns learn about sustainable farm practices, and are encouraged to live healthy active lifestyles. Ideally, the farm project will lead others to incorporate gardens and/or sustainable practices into their lives, and for those interested, may lead to start-up farms worldwide.

In the first half of 2024, ECO farm staff, volunteers and interns grew and donated nearly 20K worth of healthy food from our sustainable farm for our local community. The farm has helped individuals to live healthier lives and we've taught many people how to be responsible earth citizens.

One common element that ties earth citizens together is an understanding that all living beings are interconnected and that humanity must take action from a place of coexistence rather than self-interest. We must all remember to do what is necessary for the well-being of the planet and all its inhabitants.

Typical Volunteer Tasks

There are many activities that volunteers can select from on our farm. There are projects that are less physical, like gathering and processing our nest run eggs, washing and packaging produce, helping to plant seeds for our germination room and gardens, watering and harvesting vegetables and microgreens, and animal care.

There are also volunteer tasks that require a higher fitness level like weeding, spreading mulch, shoveling, mucking stalls, landscaping, compost management, and packing our vehicle with heavy boxes of produce.

We encourage everyone who has an interest to come by for a tour of the farm. Volunteers are also eligible for a raised bed in our community garden, which is enclosed and has a durable shade cover.
