Northern Arizona Hospice,Cottonwood, is medicare certified, which means that you are 100% covered by medicare and most other insurances. Services provided at Northern Arizona Hospice includes home health aide, spiritual support, medical social services, and skilled nursing services. This is special care for people who are terminally ill. This involves a team-oriented approach that addresses the medical, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. Hospice also provides volunteer services at the patient's residence to support to the patient, family or caregivers. Volunteers are an integral part of the patient/family's plan of care

Typical Volunteer Tasks

Volunteers: Sit with patients to provide companionship and socialization. Also, Shop for patients that may live alone, emotion support through the hospice journey, listen to music, read to patient, play cards or games. We also have a unique Pet Peace of Mind Program to assist patients in rehoming their pet when patient dies. A Vigil Volunteer Program provided at the time of the patient's death.
