Verde Valley Neighborhood Food Project, aka The Green Bag Project

Organization Overview

Verde Valley Neighborhood Food Project is a 100% volunteer-run organization partnering with Manzanita Outreach. On the second Saturday of every even-numbered month, our volunteers collect about 12,000 pounds of shelf-stable food from the doorsteps of local green bag donors and share the food at no cost with 9 small food pantries valley-wide. Our collection sites are located in Sedona, the Village of Oak Creek, Cottonwood, and Camp Verde.

Typical Volunteer Tasks

Food donations, working sign up tables at local markets, sorting food, canvassing to expand donor base, drivers, and helping with special events.
